Passenger Killed, Driver Arrested after Grimmer Blvd Crash in Fremont

Fremont, CA – In the early hours of Saturday, March 29, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a passenger and the arrest of the driver, according to NBC Bay Area.

The Fremont Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:42 AM on Grimmer Boulevard between Irvington and Carol Avenues.

Authorities said a Dodge Challenger SRT was traveling southbound on Grimmer Boulevard at a very high rate of speed when it approached a curve in the roadway, lost control, and crashed into a series of traffic barriers on the outside of the curve. Officers arrived to find two men, the driver and passenger of the vehicle, at the scene.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and booked into Santa Rita County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Passenger Liability

Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a wrongful death claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming. As a neutral third party, an experienced personal injury attorney can help navigate these emotional complexities.
