Lakia Annette Norrissa Gray, 37, of Bakersfield, Killed Riding Electric Scooter at P, 4th St

Bakersfield, CA – In the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2026, a vehicle-versus-scooter collision resulted in the death of Lakia Annette Norrissa Gray, 37, of Bakersfield, according to KBAK.

The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 12:02 AM at P Street and 4th Street.

Authorities said Gray was riding an electric scooter westbound in the north crosswalk of 4th Street when she was struck by a driver traveling northbound. Officers arrived to find her in the roadway suffering from major injuries. She was subsequently pronounced dead. The Kern County Coroner’s Office formally identified her following the crash.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. A preliminary investigation determined that driver impairment was not a factor in the collision.
