Springville, CA – On the morning of Monday, February 9, 2026, a multi-vehicle collision involving pickup trucks and an SUV resulted in at least one individual losing their life and injuries to another, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:32 AM near State Route 190 and Eagle Feather Trading Post #1.
Authorities said the crash involved a blue GMC 2500 pickup truck, a Honda Pilot SUV, and at least one additional vehicle, with debris scattered across the westbound lanes of State Route 190.
One of the vehicles reportedly left the roadway and entered a nearby pasture, while another sustained heavy damage and showed signs of smoke coming from the engine compartment.
Fire crews responded after reports that one vehicle was on fire, and emergency personnel transported an injured party to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment.
CHP later requested an evidence tow for both the blue GMC pickup and the Honda Pilot as part of the investigation. The roadway was eventually cleared after evidence collection was completed. The presence of the coroner indicates that at least one person died as a result of the collision.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation by authorities.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.
