Clovis, CA – On the evening of Friday, January 30, 2026, a red-light collision involving a distracted driver resulted in injuries to a mother and three children who were transported to the hospital, according to KSEE.
The Clovis Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:00 PM near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Armstrong Avenue.
Authorities said a woman driving a Subaru eastbound on Shaw Avenue failed to stop for a red light after allegedly becoming distracted by her GPS system. Police said the Subaru entered the intersection against the signal and collided with a Chevrolet that was lawfully traveling through a green light on Armstrong Avenue with a woman and three children inside. The impact caused the Chevrolet to strike a third vehicle within the intersection.
Investigators reported that the force of the crash also sent the Subaru through a brick wall and into the backyard of a nearby residence, where it came to rest. Emergency responders evaluated multiple occupants at the scene, and the four people inside the Chevrolet were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Police said the extent of those injuries has not been publicly detailed.
Officials stated that the identities of those involved have not been released, and the crash remains under investigation as authorities continue to document vehicle damage, roadway evidence, and contributing factors related to driver distraction.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
Stop Sign Laws
California Law requires drivers to come to a complete stop at a Stop sign (California Vehicle Code 22450). Drivers may only enter the intersection when it appears safe for all parties to do so (California Vehicle Code 21802).
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their costs of care.
