Fresno County, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, February 23, 2026, a motorcycle crash resulted in fatal injuries to an adult male rider following a collision with a garbage truck, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 1:00 PM at South Temperance Avenue and East Clemenceau Avenue.
Authorities said both the motorcyclist and the garbage truck were traveling northbound on Temperance Avenue at the time of the collision. Preliminary findings indicate the garbage truck driver began making a left turn as the motorcyclist was attempting to pass, leading to a crash between the two vehicles.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the location of the collision. Officials have not released his identity pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the garbage truck reported no injuries but was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation in accordance with standard procedure.
The crash remains under active investigation as authorities continue to examine evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.
