January 6, 2026, Stockton, CA: A hit-and-run bicycle accident that led to serious injuries occurred on a highway in Stockton on Tuesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 3:43 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 99. Police confirmed that a bicyclist was riding in the area when they were struck from behind by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled the scene.
The unidentified bicyclist was thrown off of their bicycle and onto the ground as a result of the accident. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
