Salinas, CA – On the morning of Saturday, November 29, 2025, a two-vehicle crash left a 26-year-old man in critical condition, according to KSBW.
The Salinas Police Department reports that the accident took place around 7:15 AM at the intersection of North Sanborn Road and eastbound Boronda Road.
A 37-year-old woman was making a right-hand turn in a Cadillac Escalade when a Chevy Silverado, driven by the 26-year-old man, approached at a high rate of speed. The Silverado braked, locked its tires, and skidded into the rear of the Escalade.
The Silverado sustained major damage to the driver’s side. The man was transported to Natividad Medical Center with serious injuries and remained in critical condition. He is suspected of driving under the influence.
The Escalade driver was not injured. Officers estimated the Silverado was traveling around 70 miles per hour at the time of the crash. This is an ongoing investigation.
California DUI Law
Section 23153(a) of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) states that it is illegal for any driver to “Operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and, as a result, cause bodily injury to someone else.”
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
