Sacramento, CA – On the evening of Sunday, November 2, 2025, a pedestrian collision claimed the life of 46-year-old Sacramento man Bee Lao, according to KCRA.
The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident took place just before 6:30 PM near the intersection of Del Paso Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard.
Authorities said officers arrived to find Lao lying in the roadway with severe injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police initially believed two vehicles might have been involved, but further investigation determined that only one vehicle struck the victim.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials said impairment by drugs or alcohol was not suspected.
In a GoFundMe opened in his honor, Lao’s family later shared that he was a father of five, including a 2-year-old son and four daughters between the ages of 5 and 14. They described him as a loving husband and devoted father who was always welcoming to others.
The Sacramento Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash and encourages anyone with information to contact the department.
Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims
Drivers have a Duty of Care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.
For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a Wrongful Death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
