DUI Suspect Kyle Dolcee, 35, Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near I-80, Travis Blvd in Fairfield

Fairfield, CA – In the early hours of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a fatal pedestrian collision led to the arrest of Kyle Dolcee, 35, of Fairfield, on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to KCRA.

The Fairfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 1:30 AM near the Travis Boulevard overpass at the eastbound Interstate 80 off-ramp.

Authorities said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after officers and Fairfield Fire Department personnel evaluated the severity of the injuries and determined that lifesaving efforts were not possible. Police noted that the driver, Dolcee, 35, remained at the site following the impact and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The collision led to several hours of road closures on Travis Boulevard and the nearby freeway off-ramp as investigators examined the crash location, documented physical evidence, and worked to ensure the roadway was safe to reopen.

Officials said the pedestrian has not yet been identified and that additional information will be released once the next of kin are notified.

California DUI Law

Section 23153(a) of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) states that it is illegal for any driver to “Operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and, as a result, cause bodily injury to someone else.”

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims

Drivers have a Duty of Care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a Wrongful Death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
