Goshen, CA – In the early hours of Monday, November 10, 2025, a collision between a big rig and a bicyclist claimed the life of a man near Goshen, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:30 AM on Drive 60, north of Avenue 328, along Highway 99 in Tulare County.
Authorities said the man, believed to be between 45 and 55 years old, was believed to have been riding a bicycle without lights or reflectors when he entered the roadway in front of a Volvo truck pulling a milk tanker.
Evidence suggests that the truck driver swerved in an attempt to avoid striking the cyclist, but the rear of the tanker struck the man, causing fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and confirmed the man had died at the scene. The cyclist’s name has not yet been released pending identification and notification of next of kin.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
Ongoing Investigations
Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.
Partial Liability in Bicycle Accidents
California Law does not consider bicyclists to have the right-of-way under all circumstances. However, motorists are never relieved of the expectation to provide bicyclists with a Duty of Care toward their safety.
If evidence indicates that a motorist shares some responsibility in their own fatal accident, the motorist can still be financially responsible for the victim’s recovery costs in proportion to their degree of liability.
