Sacramento, CA – On the morning of Monday, October 20, 2025, a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in downtown Sacramento lost their life, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The Sacramento Police Department reports that the collision took place around 5:35 AM in the 200 block of North 16th Street, near North C Street. 

Authorities said the crash involved at least one vehicle and caused significant traffic disruptions during the morning commute.

Officers closed nearby intersections, blocking traffic at North B Street and Ahern Street while diverting vehicles along C Street. Emergency crews responded quickly, and the injured woman was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators from the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. 

Authorities have not yet released the pedestrian’s name, pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
