Merced, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, October 13, 2025, a 46-year-old woman riding her bicycle suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Merced, according to KSEE.
The Merced Police Department reports that the crash happened around 4:35 PM in the 600 block of West Main Street. Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived to find the woman lying in the roadway with severe trauma. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries despite life-saving efforts.
Investigators said the woman had been traveling westbound in the roadway when she was hit by a vehicle that was also heading west on Main Street. The force of the collision caused significant injuries, and the driver immediately fled the scene without stopping to help.
Police later identified the suspected driver as Nathaniel Louis Mack, 41, of Merced. Surveillance cameras in the area captured clear footage of the suspect’s vehicle, allowing investigators to track him down.
Mack was arrested the following morning, taken into custody, and booked into the Merced County Jail after being interviewed by detectives.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name pending notification of her family. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal hit-and-run.
