Auburn Lake Trails, CA – On the afternoon of Saturday, September 20, 2025, a motorcycle and truck collision left one motorcyclist dead from severe injuries, according to KCRA, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:06 PM on Coloma Road near Rattlesnake Bar Road.

Investigators said the motorcyclist rode southbound on Coloma Road when he crossed into the northbound lane. A Ford truck traveled northbound at that time and reportedly struck the motorcycle head-on.

The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in the crash. Emergency responders from the Camino Fire Department arrived quickly at the scene. Despite their efforts, they confirmed the rider died from the impact.

Authorities stated that the driver of the Ford truck did not suffer injuries. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The California Highway Patrol said they found no evidence that alcohol or drugs caused the collision. Officials closed portions of Coloma Road during the response but reopened the roadway later that evening.

Investigators from CHP and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office continue to review the crash. They are working to determine what caused the motorcyclist to enter the opposing lane before impact.
