Elk Grove, CA – The Vargas family is in mourning after a driveway collision on the afternoon of Sunday, September 7, 2025, left Aella Vargas, 3, with fatal injuries, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 3:40 PM at a home on Point Pleasant Road, about 10 miles southwest of Elk Grove.
Investigators said a 29-year-old woman backed a vehicle out of the driveway when the car struck Aella as she stood behind it with a 33-year-old man. The impact knocked the child to the ground.
Family members called 911 immediately, and Cosumnes Community Service District Fire Department crews arrived within minutes. Authorities confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs contributed to the collision. CHP officials said their South Sacramento office continues to investigate the incident.
Relatives created a GoFundMe campaign to support funeral expenses and remember Aella’s life.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
