Rio Vista, CA – On the evening of Friday, August 15, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in one fatality and additional injuries, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:04 PM at the intersection of State Route 12 and State Route 113.

Authorities state that the crash involved a silver sedan and a black sedan. The impact caused the silver sedan to overturn onto its roof before coming to rest in a ditch along the right-hand shoulder. The black sedan remained disabled in the roadway, blocking traffic lanes.

Emergency responders from the Fairfield Fire Department and other agencies provided medical aid to the victims. One person died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of family. Additional victims suffered injuries that required treatment, though officials have not specified the number of injured or the extent of their conditions.

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances that led to the deadly collision.
