August 24, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: A woman tragically lost her life in a suspected DUI crash at a Bakersfield intersection on Sunday morning.
The accident, according to Bakersfield Now, occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Panama Lane and Stine Road. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling westbound when it collided with a vehicle headed southbound at the intersection. A female passenger inside one of the vehicles was thrown from their vehicle.
The adult female passenger was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of her injuries. The driver of the southbound vehicle was hospitalized with major, life-threatening injuries. The driver of the westbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
It is believed that alcohol use and speed caused the accident. At this time, Bakersfield Police continue their investigation into the accident.
