Natomas, CA – In the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, a hit-and-run collision resulted in fatal injuries to an unidentified male pedestrian, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The Sacramento Police Department reports that the crash took place shortly before 2:00 AM near the intersection of Del Paso Road and Town Center Drive in the Creekside neighborhood of North Natomas.
Responding officers located a man lying in the roadway upon arrival. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity pending notification of family.
The vehicle involved in the collision had left the scene before officers arrived, but was located a short time later. Authorities detained one individual for questioning in connection with the crash.
Major collision investigators and crime scene technicians worked at the location for several hours before the roadway was reopened to traffic around 7:30 AM. The investigation remains ongoing.
