Yuba City, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, July 30, 2025, a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle resulted in the death of a 62-year-old man from Live Oak, according to KCRA, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The crash was reported around 8:45 AM at the intersection of Highway 99 and Bogue Road.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials stated that the man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Highway 99 and had a green light as he entered the intersection.
At the same time, a white Nissan Rogue, driven by a 65-year-old man, was traveling southbound on the highway and began making a left turn onto eastbound Bogue Road behind an aggregate truck. The Nissan reportedly entered the intersection on a red light, leading to the collision.
The impact resulted in significant damage to both vehicles. The motorcycle rider was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for further medical evaluation. His passenger was reported uninjured but was transported as a precaution.
Authorities temporarily closed the roadway in both directions to allow for emergency response, investigation, and vehicle removal. CHP confirmed that the roadway reopened by 10:22 AM.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
