Fresno Driver, Mary Bonds, 86, Killed in Head-On Crash at Butler, Fowler Ave

Fresno, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, June 30, 2025, a head-on collision resulted in the death of Mary Bonds, 86, of Fresno, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 3:00 PM near the intersection of Butler Avenue and Fowler Avenue.

According to investigators, Bonds was driving a Nissan Versa eastbound on Butler Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle drifted into the westbound lane. The Nissan entered the path of a Chevrolet Silverado, resulting in a head-on collision.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and found Bonds with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. No signs of impairment have been reported, and officials have not released further details regarding contributing factors. The California Highway Patrol is continuing to gather information related to the incident.
