July 14, 2025, Monterey, CA: Injuries were reported in a suspected DUI accident involving several vehicles on a highway in Monterey on Monday night.
The accident, according to Kion46, happened around 11:55 p.m. on Highway 1 in the northbound lanes near the area of Aguajito Road. Police confirmed that five vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle collision with all drivers and no passengers.
It is believed that several parties sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. One of the involved drivers was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Police believe that one of the drivers was driving while under the influence at the time.
No further details have been released but California Highway Patrol continues its investigation.
