Brentwood, CA – On the afternoon of Saturday, July 27, 2025, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a driver suspected of driving under the influence, according to KRON.
The Brentwood Police Department reports that the crash occurred at the intersection of Sellers Avenue and Chestnut Street at approximately 2:08 PM.
Investigations suggest that a male motorcyclist had come to a stop while traveling northbound on Sellers Avenue. Moments later, a vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the motorcycle from behind.
The impact left the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released his identity.
Brentwood Police stated that the driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle was arrested at the scene and is suspected of being under the influence. Investigators believe drugs may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Police closed both directions of Sellers Avenue and Chestnut Street for five hours to conduct a thorough investigation.
