Ave 108, Old Stage Rd Crash Kills Terra Bella Man, 64, in Tulare County

Tulare County, CA – In the early evening of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 64-year-old Terra Bella man after a Toyota Corolla reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the crash occurred shortly after 5:20 PM near the intersection of Avenue 108 and Old Stage Road, located northeast of Terra Bella.

Four individuals between the ages of 50 and 70 were traveling eastbound in a 2012 Toyota Corolla on Avenue 108 when they approached the marked stop sign at Old Stage Road. At that time, a 2017 Toyota Tacoma was traveling southbound on Old Stage Road toward the same intersection.

Evidence suggests that the driver of the Corolla failed to yield at the stop sign and entered the intersection, where the front end of the Tacoma struck the driver’s side of the Corolla.

Two passengers seated in the rear of the Corolla sustained major injuries and required medical attention. The front-seat passenger and the driver were treated for minor injuries. One of the rear-seat passengers, identified only as a 64-year-old man from Terra Bella, died from his injuries several hours after the crash.

CHP says the driver of the Tacoma suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene but did not require hospital transport. The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending family notification.

Stop Sign Laws

California Law requires drivers to come to a complete stop at a Stop sign (California Vehicle Code 22450). Drivers may only enter the intersection when it appears safe for all parties to do so (California Vehicle Code 21802).
