June 8, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: One person tragically lost their life in a fatal pedestrian accident at a Bakersfield intersection on Sunday night.
According to information provided by Bakersfield Now, the collision took place at 11:14 p.m. at the intersection of Old River Road and White Oak Drive. Police confirmed that a man was traveling south on Old River in his silver Infiniti couple when he crashed into a tree. While he was out of his disabled vehicle, he was suddenly struck by a driver in a blue Honda sedan.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the Honda was not injured but remained on scene after the accident.
