Head-On Crash Injures 3 on Hwy 20 near Rex Reservoir, Grass Valley

Grass Valley, CA – On the afternoon of Thursday, June 26, 2025, a head-on collision between a Jeep and a Toyota resulted in three people being hospitalized with major injuries, according to ABC10.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the crash occurred around 2:30 PM on Highway 20 near Rex Reservoir, just east of Grass Valley.

Initial findings indicate that a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck a Toyota sedan head-on. The Toyota was driven by a 30-year-old man who sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Inside the Jeep were a husband and wife, both in their 90s, who also suffered major injuries. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, and their conditions have not been publicly updated.

Authorities have not determined what caused the Jeep to veer into the oncoming lane. Investigators say that no immediate evidence suggests drugs or alcohol were involved, though the crash remains under active investigation.

The California Highway Patrol is asking any witnesses to contact their office to assist with the ongoing inquiry.

Personal Injury Claims

When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
