Marta Medina Guizar, 77, Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church on North Main St in Salinas

Salinas, CA – On the afternoon of Sunday, May 25, 2025, a pedestrian accident claimed the life of 77-year-old Marta Medina Guizar in a church parking lot, according to KSBW.

The Salinas Police Department reports that the fatal accident occurred around 2:00 PM in the parking lot of Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church, located on North Main Street in Salinas.

Police confirmed that Guizar, a Salinas resident, was struck under circumstances that remain unclear. Investigators have not released details about the vehicle or individual involved, but early reports indicate the event is being treated as an accident.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to aid, but Guizar was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. No additional injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet disclosed whether any charges will be filed.
