May 3, 2025, Merced, CA: A motorcyclist tragically lost their life in an accident involving a suspected DUI driver in Merced on Saturday evening.
The accident, according to information provided by ABC30, took place at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Olive Avenue and G Street. Police confirmed that a man in his 30s was riding his motorcycle when he was suddenly struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle.
The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a woman from Texas, was not hurt. Police determined that she was likely under the influence at the time of the accident, however.
At this time, Merced Police continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision.
