Cressey Way, Eucalyptus Ave Crash Kills Merced County Driver

Merced County, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, May 5, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in fatal injuries to one driver, according to KSEE, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 2:49 PM at the intersection of Cressey Way and Eucalyptus Avenue.

Authorities say the crash occurred when a man in his 30s, driving a Toyota coupe westbound on Eucalyptus Avenue, failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the path of a northbound 2017 Ford F-250 pickup truck traveling on Cressey Way. 

The Toyota collided with the Ford, resulting in fatal injuries to the Toyota driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The two occupants of the Ford truck were not injured in the crash. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Merced County Coroner’s Office.

The roadway was temporarily closed while authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the scene. No arrests have been made, and impairment is not suspected at this time.
