Driver Hospitalized after Crash with Monterey County Sheriff’s Patrol Vehicle at Blanco Davis Rd

Monterey County, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, May 21, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving a sheriff’s patrol vehicle and a passenger car resulted in injuries to one woman, according to KSBW.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:00 AM at the intersection of Blanco Road and Davis Road in Monterey County.

Preliminary findings indicate that a white Audi was traveling east on Blanco Road, through a green light, when it collided with a southbound Monterey County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.

The patrol unit was reportedly responding to a domestic incident with emergency lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash. As it attempted to clear the intersection, the Audi entered and struck the patrol vehicle, causing substantial damage to both cars.

The Audi came to a stop against a traffic signal pole with visible damage to the driver’s side, and its airbag had deployed. Emergency responders had to extricate the 54-year-old female driver from the Audi before transporting her to a local hospital.

Traffic was backed up in the area following the collision, though the roadway remained open.

The incident remains under investigation to determine fault and whether protocol was followed regarding the use of emergency signals.

Personal Injury Claims

After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their cost of care.
