I-5, Balls Ferry Rd Crash Kills 1, Injures 2 in Anderson

Anderson, CA – On the early morning of Tuesday, April 1, 2025, a high-speed crash on Interstate 5 resulted in the death of a Sacramento man and injuries to two teenagers, according to CBS13.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 1:30 AM on northbound I-5 near Balls Ferry Road in Anderson.

A Jeep carrying three Sacramento residents was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the rear of a sedan. The impact forced the Jeep into a guardrail before it veered off the road and down a steep embankment.

The driver of the Jeep, a 25-year-old Sacramento man, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of family.

Two passengers in the Jeep, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, also from Sacramento, sustained injuries ranging from minor to major. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries, according to CHP.

Emergency responders worked at the crash site for several hours, temporarily restricting traffic in the area. Authorities have not disclosed whether factors such as impairment or distracted driving played a role in the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials urge anyone with information to contact the California Highway Patrol.

Passenger Liability

Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming.

A skilled personal injury attorney can help families pursue proper compensation for their loss by handling these legal complexities and negotiating with insurance companies, who always try to reduce payouts on claims they cannot deny.
