April 9, 2025, Castroville, CA: A hit-and-run bicycle accident led to injuries on a roadway in Castroville on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident, according to information provided by KSBW, happened around 12:20 p.m. on Salinas Road around the area of Trafton Road. Police confirmed that a bicyclist was traveling north on Salinas Road’s shoulder and started to make a left turn. At that time, a driver in a black GMC Yukon collided with the bicyclist. The driver left the scene before police arrived.
The bicyclist was ejected from the bike due to the force of the collision. He was assisted by Good Samaritans who witnessed the accident. The cyclist was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Police later caught the driver responsible for the accident. They were arrested on felony hit-and-run charges.
