April 23, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: On Wednesday morning, a fatal hit-and-run accident in Bakersfield took the life of a pedestrian.
The accident, according to information provided by KGET, happened in the early morning hours at 4200 Chester Avenue. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in the area when they struck two men who were walking southbound on the bridge. The driver then fled the scene of the accident.
One of the pedestrians was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to their injuries. The other was struck by debris and was injured but refused medical care.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 35-year-old male, was located using Flock Safety cameras by police. They arrested him at 500 McCord Avenue on felony hit-and-run resulting in death charges.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the collision at this time.
