Fresno County, CA – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified Andrew Webb, 19, of Fresno, and Adrian Labra, Jr., 19, of Sacramento, as two victims of the victims of a fatal collision involving a police pursuit of a DUI suspect on the night of Saturday, March 29, 2025, according to The Fresno Bee.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 9:40 PM at the intersection of Temperance and Belmont Avenues.
Authorities say 18-year-old Luis Felix of Fresno was driving a Dodge Charger southbound on Temperance when he struck the rear of a Toyota Camry stopped at a stop sign. The impact sent the Camry spinning while the Charger continued into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe. Both the Charger and Tahoe came to rest in the intersection.
Webb and Labra Jr., both passengers in the Charger, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old passenger of the Charger sustained critical injuries, while a fourth passenger, the only one wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries. Felix sustained major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
The driver and an adult passenger in the Tahoe suffered moderate injuries, while three children, ages 9, 4, and 1, sustained minor injuries. The Camry’s driver also suffered minor injuries.
Clovis Police say the pursuit began when officers spotted the Charger driving recklessly near Temperance and Gettysburg avenues. Felix failed to stop, leading to the chase that ended in the fatal collision.
Authorities allege that Felix was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He has been electronically booked on four felony charges, including evading police and evading police, causing injury or death. His bail is set at $355,000.
This is an ongoing investigation.
California DUI Law
Section 23153(a) of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) states that it is illegal for any driver to “Operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and, as a result, cause bodily injury to someone else.”
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and the passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming.
A skilled personal injury attorney can help families pursue proper compensation for their loss by handling these legal complexities and negotiating with insurance companies, who always try to reduce payouts on claims they cannot deny.
