Pedestrian Killed in Crash at 8th Street, Adams Ave in Fowler

Fowler, CA – On the night of Tuesday, March 25, 2025, a male pedestrian in his 30s died after being struck by a vehicle in Fowler, according to KSEE.

The Fowler Police Department says that the man, believed to be homeless, was hit at the intersection of 8th Street and Adams Avenue around 10:00 PM.

Officers arrived on the scene after receiving a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision and found the man unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway. Despite immediate CPR efforts by responding officers and emergency personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. A passenger was also inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. Authorities have not determined the cause of the crash, and it remains unclear whether speed, impairment, or other factors played a role.

Officials stated that this is the first fatal crash to occur in Fowler this year.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. There is currently no word on whether any charges will be filed.

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims

Drivers have a Duty of Care towards pedestrians, who are particularly vulnerable in traffic accidents. This responsibility includes being vigilant for pedestrians near the roadway and, if a fatal collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a Wrongful Death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
