March 27, 2025, Merced, CA: A pedestrian accident led to severe injuries at an intersection in Merced on Thursday night.
The accident, according to information provided by ABC30, happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Business Park Way. Police confirmed that a man was walking near the intersection when he was suddenly struck by the driver of a gray Nissan. The driver remained on scene and told police that they attempted to avoid the pedestrian but were unable to.
The adult male pedestrian sustained critical injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto by medical helicopter. The driver involved in the accident was not hurt.
Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident at this time.
