Concord, CA – On the early morning of Saturday, March 8, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving an overturned van resulted in fatal injuries, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 3:00 AM at the intersection of Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found one of the vehicles, a van, overturned and blocking multiple lanes of traffic. Firefighters and medics worked to assist those involved, but at least one person suffered fatal injuries.
Officials have not released the identities of those involved pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities temporarily closed both northbound and southbound lanes of Kirker Pass Road while they investigated the crash and cleared the roadway. Several tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, including a BMW.
By 7:53 AM, public works crews had completed debris cleanup, and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
Officials have not determined whether speed, drugs, or alcohol contributed to the collision. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP.
