Fatal Crash with Big Rig near SR-14, Pine Tree Canyon Rd in Kern County

Kern County, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, March 12, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving a big rig resulted in injuries and a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 7:54 PM near State Route 14 and Pine Tree Canyon Road.

Emergency responders arrived to find one vehicle had gone off the roadway and landed in a ravine. A person was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment. Authorities later confirmed that at least one individual died at the scene.

By 10:34 PM, the coroner had arrived, and efforts to recover the damaged vehicle, a white Ford with major front and rear damage, were underway. A tow truck was dispatched to retrieve the vehicle, which was located about 75 feet off the roadway.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) was notified of the crash as authorities worked to clear the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
