DUI Suspect Abdishakur Mohamud, 34, Arrested after Pedestrian Fatality at Northgate Blvd, Arden Garden Connector in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – According to The Sacramento Bee, 34-year-old Abdishakur Mohamud was arrested after allegedly striking and killing a pedestrian while driving under the influence in the early hours of Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident occurred shortly after midnight near Northgate Boulevard and the Arden Garden Connector.

Officers arrived to find a man lying in the roadway after being hit by a vehicle. Emergency responders provided medical aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has not yet released his identity, pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities say Mohamud, the driver involved, initially fled the scene but later returned while officers were investigating. He was taken into custody and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run resulting in death and driving under the influence.

The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation. Officials urge anyone with information to contact the Sacramento Police Department.
