February 5, 2025, Orange Cove, CA: A passenger was tragically killed in a fatal collision that took place in Orange Cove on Wednesday evening.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the accident happened at 7:45 p.m. on Manning Avenue around the area of Hansen Avenue. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling west in a Honda Accord at a high rate of speed when they made a turn onto the right shoulder, slamming into multiple trees. The vehicle then overturned. The driver fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
The passenger inside the vehicle, identified as a 36-year-old man from Aberdeen, was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries.
Police released a CHP helicopter and a department in the area to locate the driver. However, they have been unsuccessful at finding him thus far.
No further details have been released at this time but California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident.
