February 3, 2025, Merced, CA: A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a Merced roadway on Monday night.
The accident, according to information provided by Your Central Valley, happened around 8:20 p.m. on Yosemite Parkway around the on-ramp for Highway 99. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling west on the highway while a man was walking eastbound across the on-ramp in the area. The driver allegedly did not see the pedestrian due to limited lighting and struck him.
The unidentified male pedestrian was given life-saving measures but tragically passed away on the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The driver involved in the accident remained on scene.
