February 6, 2025, San Luis Obispo, CA: A major big rig collision with injuries took place on a roadway in San Luis Obispo on Thursday morning.
The accident, according to information provided by KSBY, happened before 6:45 a.m. on the Cuesta Grade around the area of Old Stagecoach Road. Police confirmed that two big rigs were traveling in the area when they were involved in a collision, causing one of them to roll. The vehicle spilled approximately 75 gallons of diesel onto the road as a result.
The drivers of the big rigs had to be extricated from their trucks and were rushed to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. They both sustained major injuries due to the accident.
The accident caused immense traffic in the area for several hours until the scene was cleared. Hazmat crews were called out to clean the scene.
No further details have been released but police continue to investigate the collision at this time.
