January 12, 2025, San Jose, CA: On Sunday night, a pedestrian was tragically killed in an accident at an intersection in San Jose.
The accident, according to information provided by NBC Bay Area, took place at 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Lonus Road and Lincoln Avenue. Police confirmed that a man was headed north on Lincoln in a 2014 white Acura SUV when they collided with a man who was crossing Lincoln outside of a crosswalk. The driver then fled the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with traumatic injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Police later found the driver responsible for the accident and pulled him over. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
No further details have been released at this time but police continue their investigation.
