January 6, 2025, Fresno, CA: Two men tragically lost their lives in a suspected DUI collision at a Fresno intersection on Monday night.
The accident, according to information provided by Your Central Valley, took place at 7:18 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Palm Avenue. Police confirmed that the accident happened as a small black pickup truck was traveling west on Belmont without headlights. The driver failed to stop at the intersection’s red light, crashing into a gold pickup truck.
As a result of the collision, the gold truck flipped over and came to a rest at a nearby gas station. Both vehicles were badly damaged due to the accident.
The passenger and driver inside the gold truck were both tragically killed as a result of the crash. The driver of the black truck, identified as a 36-year-old man, was injured and hospitalized.
The driver of the black truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI by police.
No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
