December 24, 2024, Goleta, CA: On Christmas Eve, a pedestrian tragically lost his life in a collision that took place in Goleta.
According to information provided by KSBY, the accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Hollister Avenue and Magnolia Drive. Police confirmed that two pedestrians were crossing the street at the intersection as a driver was traveling in the area around 25 miles per hour. The driver claims that they did not see the pedestrians and collided with them. The driver remained on scene following the crash.
One of the pedestrians, identified as a man from Goleta, was unconscious and taken to the hospital. They were tragically pronounced dead while there a short time later. The other pedestrian was rushed to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The driver was not hurt in the accident.
No further details have been released at this time but the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department continues its investigation into the collision.
