December 3, 2024, Selma, CA: On Tuesday morning, a driver of a vehicle was killed in a big rig crash at an intersection in Selma.
The accident, according to information provided by Your Central Valley, took place around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Parlier Avenue and McCall Avenue. Police confirmed that a big rig was traveling north in the area when it went through the intersection from McCall Avenue, causing it to collide with a pickup truck. The pickup truck was dragged for approximately 100 feet through the intersection and then caught on fire.
A passing motorist stopped and pulled the passenger free from the pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 36-year-old man from Del Ray, was tragically pronounced dead on scene. The female passenger was rushed to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
