December 16, 2024, Dos Palos, CA: On Monday night, two people were killed in a fatal big rig accident took place at a Dos Palos intersection.
The accident, according to information provided by Your Central Valley, took place around 11:52 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 152 and Turner Island Road. Police confirmed that a 2015 Kia was headed southbound on Turner Island while a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer was headed traveling west. For reasons that are still being investigated, the driver of the Kia and the tractor-trailer collided with each other going through the intersection. The truck struck the Kia on the left side.
The driver and the passenger of the Kia were tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries. One other occupant of the Kia, identified as a one-year-old, was injured and taken to Valley Children’s Hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
