November 1, 2024, Lost Hills, CA: One person lost their life in a fatal truck accident that took place on a Lost Hills highway on Friday morning.
According to information provided by KGET, the collision happened around 11:15 a.m. on Highway 46 just east of Kecks Road. A 29-year-old man was allegedly driving his semi-truck and approaching Highway 46 at the same time an Irvine male was driving his 2019 Mercedes in the area. The driver of the semi failed to yield to the driver of the Mercedes, causing the two vehicles to collide.
The driver of the Mercedes was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the semi was taken to Kern Medical for treatment of his injuries.
Police believe that the driver of the semi was under the influence at the time of the accident. He has since been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter, driving with a suspended license, and more.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
