November 13, 2024, Bakersfield, CA: One person tragically lost their life in a fatal semi-truck accident in Bakersfield on Wednesday night.
According to information provided by KGET, the collision happened around 9 p.m. on East Fairview Road at the Weedpatch Highway intersection. Police claim that a Freightliner was pulling two tank trailers and started to turn north at the intersection. At the same time, a Nissan was headed through the intersection and both vehicles collided.
The driver of the Nissan was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to their injuries. The truck driver was not injured but remained on scene after the collision.
The intersection was blocked for several hours following the accident.
No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the accident.
