October 14, 2024, Wasco, CA: Three people tragically lost their lives in a fatal collision that took place at a Wasco intersection on Monday afternoon.
According to information provided by KGET, the accident happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Elmo Highway and Scofield Avenue. Police confirmed that a gray 2016 Ram was headed east on Elmo when the driver failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign. The pickup truck continued through the stop, colliding with a Toyota that was traveling northbound on Scofield. The pickup then rolled onto its roof as it came to a stop.
One of the passengers in the Toyota was ejected out of the vehicle. That individual, as well as the driver and another passenger in the Toyota, were all tragically pronounced dead on scene due to their injuries. The driver of the Ram was taken to Kern Medical for treatment of moderate injuries.
California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident at this time.
