September 27, 2024, Cutler, CA: On Friday morning, a pedestrian tragically lost their life in a fatal accident that took place on a highway in Cutler.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the collision took place around 6 a.m. on Highway 63 around the area of Avenue 392. Investigators confirmed that there was a previous crash in the area, which caused debris to become scattered across the road. A driver saw the debris and came to a stop alongside the roadway, attempting to clean up the mess.
A 2016 Toyota was traveling northbound in the area but the driver did not see the pedestrian until it was too late. The driver struck the pedestrian but then came to a stop and rendered first aid to the victim.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead on scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
