August 24, 2024, Bakersfield, CA: A man died after he was involved in a pedestrian accident at an intersection in Bakersfield on Saturday night.
According to information provided by Bakersfield Now, the collision took place around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of South Union Avenue and Panama Lane. When officers arrived, they discovered that a man was struck by a white Honda SUV that entered the intersection at the same time as the man. The pedestrian was walking westbound at the time of the crash.
The pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead the next day on August 25 at the hospital. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
No further details have been released at this time. Bakersfield Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
